The RCA's voice coil DCR should measure around 16 to 18 ohms. The rated impedance is 30 ohms, though a later RCA service bulletin said that the impedance should really be considered 60 ohms when making crossover connections. In the old days RCA often ran high and low frequency lines at 250 ohms from passive crossovers in the booth and transformed the impedances at the speakers using multi-tap autoformers.

That woofer voice coil is a four layer job wound from very fine wire, and they can be a bit delicate. A friend lost a 1444 voice coil when lightning struck near his home.
